The actual colors and layer effects are written in the attached image.
Main topic
The highlights of the top two hairs are all light, so when I set the layers to screen or add and clip based on the highlights, it looks like it's blown out, or the highlights just look white.
I can't draw something close to my ideal from scratch again, so I want to draw something that is lighter but blends in with the lines, has a transparent feel, and has good coloring and glows.
The eyes are also bright in the middle and especially the lower part of the eyes, so it looks like it's blown out.
I actually want to try drawing thin lines on the borders and increase the amount of writing so that the color of the highlights is a little more visible.
Also, I don't feel like I've painted it unless I use vivid colors like the bottom one, and I'm not satisfied if the coloring isn't good, but the finished product is light, transparent, and has good coloring, which is my ideal.
Even with anime painting, I want it to have a sense of unity and transparency, not just lines like I do! Solid coloring!
The attached sample is not color traced, but I would appreciate any advice on the color scale of the attached one, such as if it looks professional.

1 month agoSince I am Korean, I can only see the translated results, so there may be things I do not know. I think the hair highlights in the picture are too saturated and have many colors rather than being white, so they do not go well with hair coloring. I think it would be okay to paint the highlights with only one color, which is the original color of the hair, and set it to add a layer and adjust the opacity to the feeling you want. The photo is painted this way. I think that painting the eye highlights with a highly saturated color and setting it to Glow Dodge will give you the feeling you want. For a sense of unity, I think it would be good to modify the line color to be similar to the surrounding colors and lower the left side and raise the right side in the tone curve to weaken the contrast. Also, I think you are using too many saturated colors and primary colors. It would be good to use achromatic or low-saturated colors here and there. Also, I think it would be better to increase the saturation of the shadow color and skin color. If the skin color saturation is low, it is difficult to make it look pretty. Also, I use the airbrush too much when expressing blush, highlights, and shadows in the picture. If you use less, the picture will look cleaner. It's also good to add a little bit of highlight to clothes or skin. If you have any further questions, please ask. I hope it helps, and I'm curious to see the new drawing you did using this tip, but if it's too much for you, you don't have to show it to me. Just let me know if you like the result.

Message1 month agoI want you to know what I'm saying. I want to know what I want to know. Sorry. Thank you for your reply. I still don't understand the types and colors of pens. I'm used to the spray, but I'll try other pens as well. I will look at the answers and try to improve my skin and lines as well.
