When I copy a cell it doesn't appear on the timeline and I have to paste it into the timeline manually. What can I do about it?

I don't know what version the questioner is using, so I'm just guessing.

For example, the contents of frame "1" already on the timeline are the cel name "1" in the animation folder in the layer palette.
Even if you duplicate the cel name "1" on the layer palette and give it a new cel name of "2", it will not be displayed because the frame on the timeline does not have the cel name "2" registered.
As you know, you need to manually select any frame on the timeline, right-click, and select "2" from the cel list.

This is the behavior before Ver. 2.0.6.
From Ver. 2.3.4 onwards, you can display any cel layer on the timeline in sync by simply placing it over the "New Raster Layer" button on the layer palette.
