I want to export a gif, but the Animated Gif settings box doesn't appear.

I want to export a gif without the opaque white background.
I know the transparency settings are into a setting box, supposed to appear when you click on "export animated gif".
However, when i click on it, it sends me straight to the save box, without going to the settings.
What do i do ?
