1 month agoEven if you set it to CMYK, the colors are still shown via a digital screen and their interpretation depends on the screen settings. The only way to see how colors look on a paper is to actually go and print it. Printing services usually have their screens calibrated to match their printers, but the same cannot be said about private devices. It requires you manually adjusting screen brightness, contrast and color temperature while cmyk profile is set, an example is visible on screen and a printed version is out and close. Then you adjust your screen to match colors as close to the printed version as you can. Though you may not like what becomes of colors on your screen when you are not on CMYK profile. If you can set and save different color profiles/calibration for your OS it helps a lot.

1 month agoYou may be able to solve your problem by going into CSP Preferences for color conversion and changing the Rendering Intent. The default is Perceptual, but there are three others that might be useful. If that doesn't help things, go to the manufacturer's site for your printer and see if they have an color profile for your model. They MAY have several profiles depending on what kind of paper you are printing on. Then you will have to load the profiles into your computer, which will have different directions depending on whether you're using Windows or Mac and which version of the OS you have. Google the directions. This will give you a "best guess" color profile. It WILL be different for your printer, but it will be closer than what you have now. The only way to get very good profiling is to calibrate and profile your printer, which is pretty expensive.

Also, since you mentioned macOS,
if you could provide the name and specs of your monitor,
and the name and specs of your printer,
you might be able to get an answer from someone with more knowledge.
