Restore work

I was drawing as usual when I went off the app to find a reference and when I clicked back on the app restarted itself. Normally this restores all my canvases but it didn’t restore this one that I was working on :( unfortunately I hadn’t saved it yet and it would always restore my canvases. Is there a way to get it back? Or is it gone forever?

A restored canvas is a canvas that can be barely rescued using the restore function when, for example, Clip Studio Paint is forced to close when switching apps and the canvas is lost.
Restoration doesn't always work, so if you don't save the restored canvas that you managed to rescue, you're out of luck.
Always save any canvases you need before switching or quitting apps, otherwise you'll lose the canvas.
Therefore, it's best not to rely on restoration.

iPad artwork files are saved in the following location:
On this iPad > clip studio
If you access the file from Clip Studio Paint's Open or Files app and it's not there, restoration is unlikely.

This answer to a similar question explains the difference between saving restoration information at regular intervals and overwriting the existing information.

While each has a different function, both are merely a form of insurance. Depending on the timing, the data may not be saved.
    Make sure to save manually.

Starting with version 5.0, it appears that restoration information will be saved sequentially for restoration purposes, but details are still unknown.

Currently, canvases restored by saving restoration information at regular intervals will never be restored once they are closed.

If necessary, manually save them immediately. (Restored canvases have "*Restored" displayed after the canvas tab name.)

Furthermore, restored canvases themselves take up a certain amount of memory, so the more canvases there are, the greater the load.

Closing unnecessary canvas tabs will reduce the risk of malfunctions.

Memory load rates can be checked in the Information Palette.
