Are there any optimization methods to resolve slowdowns and lag issues?

First, here are my desktop specs:

CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-14700

RAM: 64.0GB

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 8GB

I was originally using 32GB of RAM, but I upgraded it to 64GB because the lag was too severe during work.

Looking at Task Manager, when I had 32GB, working with Clip Studio would almost completely fill up the 32GB.

Even though I have now increased it to 64GB, I am still experiencing issues such as the system freezing with a 'Restore Save' popup, long saving times, and long file opening times while working.

Looking at Task Manager, Clip Studio is taking up almost all the memory and is still using the full 64GB. I would like to know if this is an issue with Clip Studio Paint itself, or if it is happening because I haven't optimized my settings.

I am also including my Clip Studio Paint settings for reference.

<Performance>

Virtual memory location: D drive (largest capacity)

Allocate to applications: 80% (The memory issue remained similar even after adjusting this value.)

Undo count: 80

<File>

Save restore information at the following interval: 5 minutes

Record restore information for every edit operation: Disabled

Save in background: Checked

Since I work on webtoons, the files I use are generally 350dpi and tend to be large in size.

However, this problem persists even after I upgraded my memory, so I would like to find a solution.

If you have any suspected causes or solutions, please help me. Thank you.

    What version of CLIP STUDIO PAINT are you using?

    It might be best to update to the latest version.

    Are you using time-lapse recording?

    If so, it could take up a considerable amount of space.

    However, I'm surprised that it's using up 64GB of memory.

    It also seems like there might be a slight memory leak.

    When the memory capacity is exceeded, the internal drive is used as memory, so unless a faster drive is set as virtual memory, it will become quite slow.

    Try working carefully and limiting the number of undos to around 30.

    For now, since Windows itself might be running slowly, you might want to search for "Windows optimization" on YouTube and review your settings.

    >Since I work on webtoons, the files I use are generally sized at 350dpi.

    350dpi is a unit of density for fine detail in print media, so the actual size cannot be determined without knowing the size of the print paper (in mm or cm, etc.).

    Do you know the actual vertical and horizontal pixels (px) as they are easier to understand?

    In CLIP STUDIO PAINT's default preset, the largest size is 1600x20000px.

    Is that the 350dpi setting you're referring to?

    After reducing the number of undos, I feel that the frequency of freezing has decreased compared to before, but Clip Studio's memory usage remains high. The size of the files I work with is generally 1500x10,000px or larger. I will also look for and try methods to optimize Windows performance. Thank you!
