I'm currently using version 4.03, but I received a notification about a limited-time plan to upgrade to version 5.0. It says I can get the new version every year for 1200 yen per year. Will it be automatically deducted from my account every year? Will it update automatically? Also, how can I cancel it? I'm worried about this and would appreciate any advice. I'm currently satisfied with the performance of my current device, but I think I should upgrade if it becomes unusable in the future.

If you own any perpetual license, the update plan is the most cost-effective way to use the latest version.

The update plan is a special option plan exclusively for perpetual license holders and is only available for the PC version.

(This license cannot be used on devices other than PCs.)

The following is supplementary information regarding perpetual license version upgrades.

Perpetual license Ver. 4.0 is used as an example. The basic process is the same for 5.0.

Regarding licenses that can be used for each version:

The one-time payment perpetual license Ver. 4.0 allows you to use versions from Ver. 1 to Ver. 4.0.10.

(macOS is up to Ver. 4.0.3)

The subscription plan allows you to always use the latest version.

The current latest version is Ver. 5.0.4.

With the perpetual license, it's up to the user whether or not to upgrade after the purchased version.

Therefore, the plans have become slightly more complex due to the increased number of options for which version to maintain.

* This does not upgrade the perpetual license itself, so it will revert to the original version after the period ends.
* It's a one-year contract, but it automatically renews unless canceled.
* While this is active, you cannot upgrade the perpetual license itself (the main perpetual license software) or change the grade (from PRO to EX).)

* Gradually upgrading the perpetual license itself (the main perpetual license software) through preferential version upgrades.
(Currently, there are major version upgrades every year, and this is more expensive than the update plan. It's suitable if you want to be sure to get the latest version.)

* After the release of 5.0, it became possible to apply for an upgrade from perpetual license 4.0.

↑While the update plan is in effect, the perpetual license will be tied to the update plan and switched to that, meaning that version upgrades and grade changes are not possible.

If you want to use the EX grade, you need to change your grade before using the update plan.
This is because version upgrades and grade changes are not possible while the update plan is in effect.

Also, cancellation is not immediate.
Since it means you won't be using it from next time, making a cancellation reservation before the next renewal date is merely a cancellation reservation. The service will remain usable until the renewal date, as the usage period will still be valid.

While it is possible to request forced cancellation from official support, this will result in the entire remaining usage period being forfeited. Therefore, the more days remaining, the more wasteful it will be. It is best to complete any necessary procedures before subscribing to the upgrade plan.
