Symmetry ruler not working; tried everything I could find online

My symmetry ruler isn't working. Things I've tried:
1. Making sure ruler is active (it's pink)
2. Making sure show in all layers is on
3. Making sure snap to special rulers is on
4. Using the object tool to manually click on the small box thing (it goes from white with a blue ring to white with a line through it, no matter how many times I try. Not sure if this is how it's supposed to look or not, but it doesn't work either way)
5. Duplicating the ruler and repeating the process on the copy
6. Deleting the OG ruler and its copy and making a new one and repeating the process
7. Closing out of the project and reopening it
8. Closing out of CSP entirely and reopening it
After all of this, it still isn't working. I've exhausted all the resources I can find online, so here I am. Just fyi, I'm on a Windows operating system with the newest version, and I have CSP Pro. Any help is appreciated.

10 days agoOpen the tool details and check the "Enable snapping" option.
This FAQ uses the eraser tool as an example, but the same option exists for brushes as well.
