How to go back to previously selected tool or sub-tool?

Hi,

Every time I switch between tools (such as Pen, then Brush), when I go back to the previous tool or sub-tool, it selects the default one, not the one I had before. For example, my Brush currently set to Oil paint -> Oil paint flat brush, but sometimes I use a different one, like Color change. When I Erase, and then press B to go back, it always chooses the Oil paint flat brush, but I want it to select Color change.

Does anyone know of a way to accomplish what I'm looking for? I am sorry if this question has been answered... I wasn't sure how to ask this question, so I also wasn't sure how to look for an answer first...

Go to File- shortcut settings - tool,
change the shortcuts you use to invoke the tool group (brushes) , not the individual sub-tool (brushes-oil brush).

    Update the software.

You can edit the shortcuts for every tools (file > shortcuts settings).
You have the option to assign a shortcut to a group of tools (for example, E for any erasers, meaning you'll get the last eraser tool you previously used) or the option to assign the shortcut to a specific tool.
