New Apple Pencil Malfunctioning on Clip Studio EX?

Hello! I recently bought an iPad (2018 version) and an Apple Pencil. I bought them used on the internet but the pencil had quite obviously never been opened. I’ve had it for about a month now and I’ve never had issues until the last couple of weeks.
The pen will instantly stop working as far as pressure sensitivity is concerned and start making odd blobs at the beginning of my strokes while everything else is incredibly tiny. The first time it happened I the pressure sensitivity settings and that fixed it for about a week. Today it happened again and I’ve messed with it for hours now and nothing’s working.
I did some research and other people are having my problem as well. There didn’t seem to be a solution in the forums I read, but I tried the suggested fixes anyway. I tested other brushes to make sure it wasn’t an issue with the settings of the g-pen I was using, disconnected my pencil and reconnected it, did a “hard” shut down on my iPad, updated it, and did multiple pressure sensitivity resets and I’m still having the same issue.
To make sure it wasn’t my Apple Pencil or iPad, I tested it on the drawing function in my notes app and didn’t have any problems. I payed a lot for the iPad and Pencil so that I could use them for Clip Studio specifically and I also pay for an EX subscription😅. If anyone can help me with this issue I would be so incredibly grateful😂!!!

CSP for iPad isn't really compatible with Apple Pencil or your fingers. If you really need CSP for important purposes, you can get it online for US $169.00 or CA $ 220.00 or another option would be to get a Wacom pen or a Disk Pen. I'm sorry if this didn't help or you could not return your Apple Pencil.

I’m having this exact same problem with my gen 2 Apple Pencil (11” 2019 IPad Pro, IOS 12) in clip studio, pens and brushes do this weird blob at the start of each stroke. Will Celsys please fix this immediately? Claiming its “not compatible” makes no sense. We’re paying a monthly subscription specifically to use it on IPads, of course it should be compatible. Here’s an example with 3 different brushes, the bottom is the default G-pen.

I had EXACTLY the same reaction lol😂😂😂! I couldn't really bring myself to believe that that was the case, but I started a disappointing search for other programs anyway. After downloading a few free ones and actually coming up against the same problem, I realized it was actually the pencil after all😅. I can get it to work for a few minutes by pressing really hard on the tip, but I don't like pushing on my screen or my tip like that and it’s the only solution I've found so far. I've seen a lot of other people having problems with both Apple Pencil gens in the forums I read, so at least we aren't the only one's lol🤪😂. I've been talking to Apple customer service and it looks like they're going to send me a new one, so I'm very happy with how they've handled my situation (especially seeing as how I bought it online and not through them😂)! If you're issue persists like mine has I suggest seeing if they'll fix or replace it. I hope that helps😂! Honestly, I'm just grateful it was the pen and not CSP because I REALLY didn't want to learn a different software😅😂!

The problem may exist in multiple programs, but I’m now certain it’s not an issue with the pencil itself being broken. First, I don’t have this problem in adobe sketch or procreate. Next, I pulled out my older Ipad and gen 1 pencil, and it had the same issue in Clip Studio paint. So either both of my seemingly-functional pencils are broken (seems very unlikely), or the issue is something else.

Crud, that does sound different. I’m so sorry😂! But I’m pretty positive that “not compatible” can’t be true. People pay for it and expect it to function correctly. You may find better results talking directly to CSP customer service.

Did replacing your pen solve your issue with the brushes? I went to the apple tech support and had my pencil replaced, my tablet reset, all diagnostics run, there was no issue with my device or pencil and the problem still persists. Apple tech support told me the problem is the app itself and how it reads the pencil.

The replacement pencil did solve my issue. I'm curious though, when you go to the Clip Studio ”pen pressure settings” and test your pencil there, what does it look like? This is what mine looks like with the replacement. When my old pencil would mess up it would show the points all gathered up in the top left of the graph but the few minutes when it was working it would show the points where they are with the new pencil.
