3D Grids and Measuring

Hey,

I am having some trouble with the 3D grids.

As you know, when you select a 3D model a grid appears on the ground. If you adjust the camera, the grid sizes along with the model. Perfect.

I calculate that 4 grid boxes is equal to 200cm in the scale of the program, so if you place a model of a bed, you know that if you place it 4 squares distance away from another object, that it is at 200cm.

The problem is when you want to move objects in 3D space further. There doesn't seem to be a way to expand the floor grid, so you are stuck guessing distance.

That leaves me with the perspective grid. This blue grid on the ground extends to the horizon, so that is good. The problem is that the scale is off, and if you move the camera, it doesn't resize correctly.

So this has left me with no way to properly measure the distance between objects in a consistent way.

Is there a way to expand the 3D floor grid, or adjust the perspective grid to the correct scale, and lock it so it retains that scale?

I have attempted to use 3D modeled floor grids from the materials shop, but they either were too thick, or wouldn't combine with other 3D layers

Ideas?

The grid size can be adjusted from "0.1" to "1000" from the tool properties.

I'm sorry if the meaning of the question is different.

    Hey,

Thanks. I know you can adjust that grid, but the issues are that A) the grid resizes when the camera is moved and B) there is no consistent scale (like with the 3D grid) so you can't use it to measure units within the program.

He said that if he did not answer, please refrain.

Originally, CLIP STUDIO PAINT is software that supports handwritten illustrations / comics, and it is a cheap program that does not fully use animation functions.
It is impossible to expect high performance in specialized deep areas with 3D auxiliary functions.

If you want the features you want, you have to ask the support / development department. https://support.clip-studio.com/en-us/

I think we might be having a language barrier issue. I appreciate you trying to help, but I think I will wait for some other replies. Cheers.

I ended up making a grid myself.
