Why did CELSYS remove PAINT icon from the desktop?

In the new version (1.6.7 & 1.6.8) the installation only puts one icon on Windows desktop called "CLIPSTUDIO". This is inconvenient. I have been used to double clicking CLIPStudio PAINT icon on my desktop for years, now they remove it and expect me to open "CLIPSTUDIO" first, then click on paint. This is time consuming and inefficient for a creative professional who runs a business, where client deadlines are very important. Please put the desktop icon back, and give us a choice to use CLIPSTUDIO (asset manager) if we want to. Thanks

I must admit I am not pleased with that change, but I went into my Program Files folder and found the executable for the actual paint application and pinned that to my start menu (windows 10 of course). not as convenient as the installer doing it for you, but I have retained the previous functionality and avoided the two stage start up

I agree 100%. I have done this workaround, but its unacceptable. The fact is, they are trying to get us to forcefuuly use the CLIPSTUDIO asset app, hence removing the paint icon. My concern is that this sort of attitude from CELSYS, might result in them doing more inconvenient changes in the future. CELSYS just keep it simple please. Five years ago when I bought Manga Studio it was simple and straight forward, then you changed your name to Clip Studio Paint then you added a separate asset manager app and now you removed the main painting app icon from the desktop. What next? What are you up to?

Clip Studio Paint existed along side "Manga Studio" all the time, it was a japanese version only back then.
Since celsys owns CSP and MicroSmith's software was just a rebrand of the same product, it made sense to unify it
into a single product name. That is simplifying .

The thing is CSP (jap) had Clip Studio all the while Manga Studio did not.
It made sense to enable Clip Studio since the recent changes to unify the installation process of CSP versions (multi language support)
into a single install package. This is simplifying and unifying.

Clip Studio is not just an asset manager,
but a launcher for all celsys programs ,HUB for your profile/cloud storage operations, guides, support connection, ASK, software upgrade and general maintenance center.

From Clip Studio you can manage multiple programs and open your recent work (I think japanese version only, so far).
Hopefully other version will catch up with the features of japanese Clip Studio soon.
There are few more options in there to manage cloud storage content/backups and what not.

You can always add a direct shortcut of CSP to desktop.

The advantage of launching clip studio first it to have regular backups and sync,
in case something goes wrong you can get your settings and stuff back from your profile cloud.

If you're on Windows 7, go to your program files folder and look for the Clipstudiopaint.exe, do a right-click and choose "Send to > Desktop (create shortcut)". I agree that's counter-productive to expect us launching CSP via Clip Studio, what a waste of time.

Problem is, for English users, the Clip Studio software alone is not really useful. Personally, I never launch it by itself.
I browse the assets page on the web (easier to open the assets you're interested in into new tabs before downloading them) and Clip Studio launches by itself when I download one of them.

Now, there's a new feature in Clip Studio for non-Japanese users, the "Material" tab, which seems like a great idea to sort and browse easily your material.
But I find it half-finished: you can do the exact same thing in the "material" window in Clip Studio Paint, so what's the point?
If only we could sort and browse the brushes too, that could be an added value to Clip Studio.
I understand there's a way to "save" your material on the cloud but I haven't found the option and nobody could answer me here, so...

I'm also waiting to have the same options as the Japanese users in Clip Studio, for example the "Plug-in" tab to download and install user-made plug-ins. Non-Japanese users don't have access to this feature yet, I'm hoping for it in a next update.

Perhaps other programs like Action and Coordinate store their materials there as well, more convenient to manage them from a single interface.
If I click "material" I can sort and browse my brushes,no problem. I can also download materials from the community hub in the same window.

The sync should be automatic (if you are logged in),
you just can't select what to sync (settings, materials, sync by date etc) ,like you can in Japanese version.

Plugins can only be used by owners of japanese EX , not PRO.
There was no proper SDK for non-jap plugins, the last time we checked (2016).

    Thanks Memag!

How do you browse and sort your brushes in the Material tab of Clip Studio?
Mine are sorted in folders on my hard drive but I can't seem to drag and drop them anywhere in Clip Studio like I do in Clip Studio Paint.

    I just press "material" button.
Then I can drag them in there and change stuff.
