Setup a Sketchbook Template

Hi, can anyone help. I use these Logo sketchbooks for sketching logo ideas:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Logo-Design-Sketch-Book-Sketchbook/dp/B085RKHL7S/ref=sr_1_6?dchild=1&keywords=logo+dotted+paper&qid=1614795100&sr=8-6

I would like to create a template in Clip Studio, like the preset Comic book ones, whereby I can hit file > new and select my saved preset dotted sketchbook - complete with pages etc just like the real version. Essentially a digital template of this real world book.

Any ideas anyone?

Cheers

Simon

There’s always the option of registering a material. First, create your page setup. This includes the size of your “page” and any design you want. Put everything into a folder.
Once you’re happy with how it looks as a template, then go to Edit > Register Material >Template. (save it in a place you’ll find it with tags you want— ex. Journal or template)
When you go to make a new entry, look for “layer template” when you’re creating a new canvas. It should be there if you click on it in “created material"

Ah thanks so much for the answer and quick response. Any idea how I would create the pages with a dotted paper / background though like the logo book in real life? I did search for a dotted texture on the clip studio cloud, but couldn’t find anything. But then I am quite new to CSP to be fair so probably did it wrong!

You’re right— there are no materials that do this. However with the line tool and a grid, it’s quite easy.
First, set up the line tool so that it’s dotted.
Then, apply a grid (View < grid) to your canvas and make the desired design. In view, there are more options for the grid, so if you aren’t happy with the spacing, it’s easy to change it. Using a grid will not only make your lines perfectly horizontal, but they will also make sure they are evenly spaced apart.
Adding the grid is simply to make sure the lines are level, and are not visible on your final canvas if you export it.

As a side note, there is a material in the asset store called "Bullet journal pattern”. That appears to be what you’re looking for.
