ctrl+alt+drag shortcut suddenly not working anymore? help!

i'm not sure of how to fix this. but suddenly, the shortcut i like to use for quickly changing brush sizes (ctrl+alt+dragging the cursor) has stopped working! it only registers when i hit ctrl to try and use it. how do i get this shortcut back?
