pen and pencil are not coordinated

I just got the program, and my pen and the pencil do not match. When i put my pen on the sides of the program where you can choose different types of pencils for exemple, everything is fine. But at the moment i put the pen on the paper, the pencil moves 4 inches away from the actual placement of my pen... What can i do to fix this problem? Thanks a lot!
