Do the two computers have to be two different systems??

In the example given for two different computers, it says mac OR windows. Now, are those just two examples, it does it HAVE to be like that? As in, it couldn't go onto two windows computers. I'm using a windows laptop now, but in the next 6-24 months(I really don't know WHEN just that it WILL) I'll be getting a new computer, also with windows. Before I buy I want to make sure it'll work on the new computer as well.
