my pen wont properly calibrate on the canvas but it lines up over the tools

whenever i try to put pen to pad on canvas portion of the workspace the cursor sits a solid three to four inches to the left. however the mouse lines up when i am using any of the tool menus on either side. Ive tried recalibrating my pen multiple times. I have a Gaomon tablet PD 1560. anyone else have this kind of problem?
