How to toggle between tools? (Not Temporary switch)

Hey guys!

I'm trying to switch between two different tools, but the thing is is that I'm trying to switch to the previous brush I used.

Example:
Click (oil brush) > Click (eraser) > can use shortcut to switch back and forth > Click (pencil) > can now switch between (pencil) and (eraser) and so on...

I was able to do it before, but had to reset everything back to default and I can't remember how I did it ;; ^ ;;

My "switch between current and previous sub tools" on a shortcut, but it doesn't seem to do switch back and forth the way I would like...

You can't use shortcut keys to switch between previously used and in-use brushes between "tools".
You can do this with "Switch between current and previous subtools" between "subtools" in the same group.
You may have previously put the eraser and pencil in the same sub tool group.
Or, for example, if you register the same shortcut key for the eraser and pencil, the eraser and pencil will switch each time you press the key.

My eraser and brush tools were all in their normal spots. They were not together in the same sub tool group. :(
It's fine if I have to put them in the same group, but I didn't want to put all my brushes in one group

Window menu-> Shortcut key setting-> Select [Option] in [Setting area]-> In the [Sub tool palette] item, set your favorite key to [Switch between current sub tool and previous sub tool].

    Can't you do this?

It is already set to that. Though it's just not performing how it was before I had reset everything.

If you have checked File menu-> Preferences-> Tools-> Tool shift-> Under that, try setting the pressing time to about [300]. (In the case of [0], it does not switch if you press it for a while)

The method described by Chaya works within the same sub-tool group, but not between completely different tools (eg pen and airbrush).
    (I also tried)
I think Tsukikai is asking how to switch between different tools.
And I couldn't find a way to do it.
Also, as of 2016, the official responded that "the method has not been implemented."

Yes! What 犬川さとsaid! It makes me sad that it seems like I wont be able to get that trick back, since it's "not implemented" apparently U_U

I'll try again tomorrow, but if it doesn't work I'll do what 茶屋 recommended! If I can find a way to get it to work, i can update this thread with the method I used :p thank you guys!!

I'm actually trying it, but I can switch between the pen tool [G pen] and the eraser tool [hard] alternately.
You can also switch between other tools, such as markers and rulers.
It seems that it could not be done as of 2016, but I think it can be done now.

If you can't do it even if you change the press time setting, I don't know the cause.
You may want to ask support.
