I really wish Clip Studio is able to paste greyscale images as layer mask. Your thoughts on that? or any work around?

    (1) Display only the grayscale image and use "Combine copies of display layers" etc. to make it a merged layer.

② “Edit” > “Convert brightness to transparency”

③ Ctrl + left click the thumbnail of the layer.

④ Select the layer you want to add a layer mask to and press the "Create Layer Mask" icon on the layer palette.

⑤ If necessary, you can also select the thumbnail of the created layer mask and invert the gradation (Ctrl + I).

    First, create a layer mask.

Then, select the layer of the grayscale image → Hold down the ctrl key and click the thumbnail of the layer (a layer selection is created)
→ Click the created layer mask → Delete key
