I would like some constructive feedback on my art of Roman Emperor/Emperess Elagabalus. I attempted to add gold to my art, but I did not achieve it to my liking. If there are any imrovements you can offer, Id appreciate it! Thank you for your time!

Hi! The best way to achieve a gold looking material is to adjust the color to a more vibrant gold. You can select an area with the lasso tool and adjust the hue to your liking demonstrated in the image below. You can also select multiple layers at the same time if the gold is not colored on a singular layer. If you want to start again from scratch just use a color closer to orange - yellow to achieve gold. Hope this helps!

After painting the base color and 1 shadow with the color of the metal part,
Create a new layer above, set the blending mode of the layer to overlay,
If you layer it with a slightly darker orange or yellowish color
I think you can also give it a glossy look.

For the highlight part, I think it will be easier to make it look shiny if you set the blending mode of the layer to additive emission.

↑ There is an explanation about layer blending modes.

You can expand the range of expression by using different blending modes.
We hope you will try it out.

That's a great picture! I think the gold expression is really good. However, if you only raise the quality of gold, the eyes of the painting only go to the gold, so it's good to raise the quality of the figure as well. I support you! :))
