hello I would like to invert the selected area but when I select and click on reverse nothing happens is there an action to do with it?

There is a function called "Reverse" that flips the view of the canvas horizontally to check the distortion of the picture, and a function that transforms the image and reverses the left and right.
You can flip the view by clicking the button on the command bar, but if you want to transform the image, select Edit → Transform → Flip Horizontally from the top menu.
