Don't really know how to shade and highlight together

So i use clipping masks to highlight because, yknow, its' easier. but i cant clip both the shading and the add layer to the colors without using overlay on a single layer. What are some shading methods that you guys use that aren't messy or just work quicker than usual?

3 months agoBase layer, multiply layer and a add glow layer. Sometimes I skip add glow layer and just do a few strokes with hard add glow airbrush on top. I also clip my layers to the base and use lasso fill with blender to add shadow on multiply layer.
