How to have the background of a tone layer transparent (for example for print on a T-shirt)?

Hi, please someone know a tecnique or a function to have a tone layer with (for example) black dots transparents? For print an illustration on a T-Shirt considering the T-shirt color the background. Thanks.

    Hide the underlying layers and output them as PNG files

    Hi, thank you for info, I know it but I talk about a transparent background in a "tone layer". The tone layer have two color, black and white, I want the black color transparent.

    What i did was create the black in a separate layer - select all - and with that selection on the withe layer (a copy) just delete to get the "holes"
    You could paint everything in the same layer, then use auto selection tool (with some Area scaling) on blacks and delete them. Or draw the holes as a layer mask. I hope something of this will help you.
