Where has the Clear function gone?

After updating to version 1.9.4 I no longer have the Clear option in the Edit menu? The only way to clear a layer without erasing the whole thing now is to press BackSpace on the keyboard. Very inconvenient. Has it been moved? I cant find it anywhere.
