Why is the blend tool so bad

The blend tool is so bad, is it just because of my settings?

When I use the blend tool it picks up other colors, like white from the background. then it blends with the white making white spots everywhere. It also doesnt blend like other programs, you cant even make someone blush with this blend tool. I feel bad for people making realism with clip studio paint.

Is there good settings for the blend tool? like that blend instantly when you draw over something

You can pixel lock the layer so you don’t get white from the background. You might also want to decrease the pressure on your blending— as it emulates the finger tool if you have it set too hard.

People , way back, used to work with photoshop when it didn't have blend brushes, they did just fine.
Realism isn't achieved with blend tool but with knowledge of light/shadow.
There are old masters that made realism without blending and smudging colors at all.
Hyper-realism can be achieved with airbrush way easier than with blend brushes (IMHO).
I can make realistic images without the blend tool.
I agree there should be no blending with other layers and transparency (at least as an option).

There are 2 modes of blending in CSP, also open tool property panel and try different parameter values (amount and density of paint).
Try setting pen pressure control on those parameters.
