Be sure to check your computer's processing abilities based on the software requirements. An older, slower laptop will have difficulty processing larger or more complex pictures.
To get the most out of any drawing program, you'll very soon want a stylus input of some sort, so you can draw naturally, like using a pencil. There are a wide variety of options available.
__On the beginner/most affordable end, you can start with a tablet/stylus device. It is typically USB, and is just a grey or black slate that uses a stylus a bit like a mouse. You can't see what you're drawing on the tablet, but you can see your cursor move on the screen. It is a bit of a mental disconnect, and it takes some getting used to, but eventually you'll get that eye-hand coordination down so you can move your hand and stylus on the tablet and see the cursor movement on the screen and get what you want in there.
__Next step up would be a Digital Display Tablet, essentially it is a second screen that you plug into your computer like the tablet above. Only this tablet is a screen, it duplicates your laptop screen and when you draw on the DDTablet you see the lines coming from your stylus on the tablet screen. It has a more natural feel. These Digital Display Tablet screens cover a wide range of prices.
__Best setup would be a laptop like a Lenovo Yoga, where the screen flips all the way around and you can use a stylus to draw right on the screen of the laptop.
By "Best setup" I am only saying it's more portable, one piece, no wires connecting a second device (tablet/screen) to your laptop.
__In addition to the "Best Setup" scenario, you can also purchase a license for CSP to run on your Android, iPad/iPhone or tablet, just get a stylus and draw on your device.
NOTE: different devices have different Stylus options! My Android Galaxy S7 was a capacitive touch screen, so I could use the fat rubbery stylus, but accuracy was meh. My Android Galaxy S21 Ultra uses capacitive touch screen and an SPen with WACOM's digital Stylus input hardware, so I can use a digital stylus with much better accuracy.
Again, check your devices capabilities. Assume nothing.
Hope this helped! =)- English
