Why does the vector eraser taper the line at an intersection, can I make it not do that?

when I use the vector eraser to erase lines up to an intersection it always does this.... I've gone thru the settings trying to figure out what to do about this and can't figure it out.

plz help

Disable "smooth corner" in vector simplify tool properties.

General rule is when you use a tool and it does something weird in the process,
it 's usually the tool settings that are causing the issue. Check it.
