Cut off font descenders

Using fonts in Clip Studio with English lettering tends to cut off the descenders on certain fonts, usually with g, q, and j. This problem only exists with Clip Studio. I have experimented with line spacing and vertical height, but none of these work. Looking for previous answers in the "ask" community returned one result (from 2017) claiming this was a problem with .otf fonts and ligatures. But now that Clip Studio has added support, this is no longer a reasonable explanation. Is there a setting I have missed that can fix it? I've included one example of this in a screenshot, showing an offending letter g in the top line.

Hi! Reset the default settings in Tool Property and see if it works.

It seems to be grayed out when I try it.

It's usually grayed out if you access it while you are typing something. Make sure it is on the text sub tool but you don't tap on the screen to type. Instead, access it through the wrench icon. If it's still gray, you may have to reset to the default settings by pressing on "draw" in the official Clip Studio Start app while holding down shift.

I just tested that. It is not the problem, as the letters are still chopped off at the bottom. It looks like Clip Studio is taking letters without descenders as the base size for the line of the font, and then whatever has a descender is chopped off.

If that's the case, it's a flaw in the program.
