I want to make my own cloud brush from a photo, but when I try to select the layer color and paint with color, the final brush only draws with black. I don't know where I'm going wrong, and I'm stuck. I'd like some advice. Thank you in advance 🙇

In this case, wouldn't it be necessary to invert the gradation and make the white parts (= the cloud parts) black and the sky parts transparent (※It's important to make them transparent and not white)?
Then, select the complete clouds that aren't cut off at the edge of the photo, separate each chunk into a separate layer, cut them into about 4 chunks,
and register each one as a material for the brush tip image.

That's why the brush tip image is created on a gray layer.
If you create a brush with an image created on a color layer, you can't change the color even if you change the drawing color.

If you create it on a monochrome or gray layer, you can draw by reflecting the main color and sub color of the drawing color.
If you want to clearly separate the monochrome layer into two colors,
and if you want to express blurring and intermediate colors, create it on a gray layer.

Does this [Layer Color] mean the layer color in [Layer Properties] → [Effects]?
It's strange that it becomes black, so you may have the settings wrong.

I took a screenshot.
After trying it out, it turned out that it wasn't the process of making the brush that was wrong, but rather the process of cutting out the photo.
But now I don't understand why the photo wasn't cut out and the whole photo was used as the tip of the brush...
I was able to create a colored brush by using a single photo as is, so I would be grateful if you could tell me what went wrong in the previous photo processing step.
