I want to draw inorganic curves using Bezier curves

I want to use a tool to make this freehand T-cup more realistic, and I want to use a Bezier curve to express the curves of the handles, etc.
But I have no idea how to do this... When I draw a line like in the image and move it to curve the middle, it somehow becomes like a cross and curves in strange places... I looked on the web to understand how it works, but I couldn't figure it out.
If you use a Bezier curve when drawing an inorganic object with curves like a T-cup, how would you use it?

The way control points are entered differs depending on the settings.

For now, why not read the curve page in the reference guide?
