how to delete all lines in one color on a layer

I made a huge mistake in my drawing, using a white brush to cover mistakes instead of just erasing them... I don't know what I was thinking. Now it has all been merged together and I can't fill the lineart to color it, because the white blobs on the same layer as the lineart cover the base color. I can manually erase them, but it makes my lineart really ugly. So I'm wondering if there was a way to delete all lines of the same color (in this case, white) on a layer with other colors? Or to separate them from the other colors, like the drawing on the right in the image attached. Sorry this is really specific. Thanks.

I'm not sure about the situation ...
I'm not sure if this method will work, so try duplicating the layer first and then try it.

Edit menu → [Convert brightness to transparency]
If red is mixed, try [Convert Brightness to Transparency], then change [Foreground Color] → Edit Menu → [Convert Line Color to Foreground Color].
