How to make a curved selection

I would like to do something similar to the fill function of Photoshop's Paths tool, so is it possible to draw a line using a curve from a shape and then treat it directly as a selection?

I think the function equivalent to Photoshop's path is the "ruler" tool.
You can shape it with the ruler tool and convert it to a selection.

For now, I tried drawing a shape surrounded by the ruler tool → Straight line tool (quadratic Bezier) for reference, but the address destination "Selection area from ruler" remained grayed out and I couldn't select it.
    Is this what you mean?

Please check the note on the same page that says,
"If the ruler shape is not closed, you cannot create a selection."

Since I'm going to fill it in, I'm trying to close the lines first, but it seems like there's no new information coming out, so I think I'll stop here.
