1) so, i was hoping to get clip studio paint, but i don't have that much of money right now, since i'm also still a student. I've searched the internet for Clip Studio Paint EX and i found some, but they're the previous versions. So i wanted to ask if i need to buy the newest version of Clip Studio Paint or is it possible to get Clip Studio Paint's newest version by downloading the older version and maybe get somewhat of an update?

2) Also, does EX have the same functions for illustration like for PRO?

For example, it is free to update from purchased old Ver.1.8.x to Ver.1.9.4 (= current version as of today).
Just download the updater from the download page on the official website and run it.

1) If you want to use CSP EX for free, it is impossible.
To use CSP EX, you need to buy a download version, a value version, or a package version.

I don't know if the value version will be applied outside of Japan.
I don't know what your "previous version" refers to.

CLIP STUDIO PAINT is a serial number (license registration),
Regardless of new or old or language, the version and period of use of all versions are determined at the time of startup by checking the CELSYS license server.

If your pen tablet is made by Wacom and is compatible with the CILP STUDIO PAINT bundle, you may be able to get a PRO version for a limited period of two years.
Check Wacom's site for details.

i found on some other online stores in my country, i've seen the EX version 1.8 + Materials , and the prices are different. I wasn't asking it to be free, i was asking if it was possible to upgrade to 1.9?

I misunderstood whether I wanted to buy CSP cheaply or use it for free. I'm sorry.

It is possible to buy an old version (1.8) of CSPEX and update it to 1.9. Updates are free.

If you are wanting to save money, your best bet is to wait for another 50% off Sale.

Pro is only $25 when it goes on sale.

As far as the the tool differences go between EX and Pro, the tools are all the same for illustration,

EX does contain tools for:
longer animation (Pro is limited to 24 frames)

files with multiple pages for comics (Pro only has 1 page files only)

turning 3D images and photos into lineart
(this isn't available in pro)
