CLIP STUDIO PAINT lag/stutter problem

Hello!

So my problem i have with Clip Paint for the last couple months is, the cursor tends to freeze in place for a slight second sometimes which can be very confusing and it also messes up the linestroke or doing rough sketches.

and this cursor freeze has nothing to do with textured pencils, it has these issues with G-Pen and default Pencil, it basically means the Cursor stays in place for half a second before "teleporting" over to the actual location of my stylus. i do not mean slow line strokes or anything, actual cursor freezes.

I also asked around other people and they are experience these performance issues as well. and here is probably a hint why that is: all of us who have this cursor issue in CLIP STUDIO PAINT use multiple monitors. I tried out drawing on photoshop and paint tool SAI and on these programs there we NO cursor freezes at all. so the issue isnt from faulty tablet drivers or bad PC Performance

My PC Specs:

OS: Windows 10 Home (Creators Update 1709) 64-Bit
OS Build: 16299.125
Processor: Intel Core i7 6700K
RAM: 16GB (DDR4)
Graphic Card: NVidia GeForce GTX 1070

CLIP STUDIO PAINT VERSION: EX 1.7.2

All Drivers (Wacom Tablet, Graphic card etc) are all up-to-date.

So here is my theory why this lag occurs:

CLIP STUDIO PAINT has difficulties to work properly when 2 or more Monitors are used at the same time.

There is absolutely no reason for CSP to have any lag or freezes, other drawing programs work absolutely fine, unfortunately CSP does not and it basically ruins drawing for me.

    Hi
Can you try to use Wintab mode if not yet tested, and test it again?
SAI also use Wintab mode. Unless you are using SAI2 and select Tablet mode in the option.

Also create a profile in wacom properties for CSP, and set "Windows Ink" to disable(unchecked).

Here is a post , OP has similar issue with your, it seems Wintab mode fix the issue:

The same thing happened to me only with the last update, but I think it was solved by removing the new autosave feature for canvas recovery.

I also use a monitor and a wacom cintiq

I dont really know if its the Issue of my Tablet, or Clip Studio Paint itself or maybe something even more different! Please help!

My Wacom Tablet is a Wacom Intuos Pro M (PTH-660) with the latest drivers 6.3.27-2, reinstalled alot but didnt solve my problem...i even resetted CSP entirely sacrificing my Brush Presets and still, the annoying Lag is still there, i also deactivated the Service "SSDP Discovery" and still...lag persistent....

Better example of the lag here, you can even see how a straight line was created by the lag! Watch the second circle precisely. that is no dropped frame gif! this freeze occures alot!

Oh I see... and how about your memory usage on system and App? I have some lags when I have 100% of system or 100% of App memory usage (I have 16gb ram too, Intel i7 2600 3.4Ghz)

so there is one thing i've found out:

clip studio paint has issues working with a Wacom Intuos PTH-660. because this kind of lag does not occur on the previous Tablet PTH-650.

It doesnt count as a solution for me to just use an older tablet.

I use a Yiynova tablet monitor and apparently they are having issues as well.

So far we can't figure out if it's because of something that Clip Studio did or if it was because of Windows updates...so far the consensus is that it's because of Windows because it's apparently ALSO happening in SAI and Sketchbook Pro.

On my end, I keep having to reinstall the drivers. I am, at this moment, going to uninstall the clip studio update (which is sad, I love what they did with the 3D models) but I want to see if this helps. I'll let you know.

I use a Cintiq Pro13 and a PC Monitor but I can not reproduce the issue you have.

The issue you have is very similar to this OP's as I mentioned above:
    https://ask.clip-studio.com/en-us/detail?id=4878

For now the advice I can give is :
1.There is a way to clean all wacom setting, just run Tablet preference file utility and press "remove" under All User Perferences.
2.Try to disable any touching feature on tablet and CSP(disable all gesture option in preference)
3.Or replace a new pen nib
    And try again.
If it still not fixed, maybe there is issue with the device or compatibility issue that CELSYS or wacom have to fix it.

Also, this just another advice, not related to your issue:
1.If you ever disabled windows page file setting, try to re-enable it.

2.I noticed on the picture you upload, the CSP icon in the wacom properties is not it's own but the default icon.
There is a bug in wacom driver that preference does not get registered to the application, if you delete it and reassign it again.

For the cause and how to fix it, please refer to this post to correct wrong or delete duplicate CSP PATH setting in wacom driver xml file:

    Hi, a FYI:
This issue was reported by Japanese user at Nov. 29 on CLIP Studio Paint Japan official customer support site.(see the link.)
It seems CELSYS already reproduced the issue and contacting with Wacom at Dec. 20. Hope there will be a good news soon.

The issue seems only happened on PTH-660 and PTH-860(which means it only affects Tablets with Pro Pen2) from the user report, also Cintiq pro not be affected.
