I downloaded a ton of assets. I didn’t know for a while that they weren’t automatically added to their type of sub tool category when I downloaded them. After I realised that this doesn’t happen, I started trying to organise them by adding them as a sub tool of their type. I think I’ve added some of them more than once. I don’t know how to locate duplicated sub tools. Like, I don’t know how to find a duplicated brush sub tool in brushes, for example.

I wrote "Initialize only the tool" because I thought there was no way to find duplicated subtools at the moment.
Of course, if you don't want to initialize, you don't have to.
Please search patiently for duplicated subtools in the [Subtool palette].

Even if you write "CSP is a hard-to-use app" on CLIP STUDIO ASK, no one will fix it because there are only users like you.
Volunteer users are answering here.
Also, there is a trial period before purchasing CSP. There is no need to force yourself to pay for an app you don't want to use.

You are right. No one is forcing me to use this app. If I bought a year, that’s on me. I sound like a whiner, I know. My background is drawing and colouring. I came here to see if I could learn other skills. But probably Procreate is a better match for me, even though it doesn’t have all the possibilities that this app has. Thank you for your honesty.

If you don't mind resetting all your tools at once, you can reset only your tools using the method in the FAQ below. Turn on [Tools] in the dialog.
At this time, be sure to read the [i] caution at the bottom of the dialog carefully before pressing OK. If you are afraid to operate it, do not force it.

Even if you do the above operation, the materials (assets) in the [Material Palette] will not disappear, so after initializing the tools, you should be able to configure the subtools according to your plan.

I’m looking for a way to find duplicated subtools, so I can remove them. It seems so strange to me that downloaded subtools aren’t automatically added to the tool type that the creator says that they are. And also odd that there isn’t a way to find duplicates. It’s lovely to have such a smorgasbord of assets. But it’s not a very organised app. Maybe this app is just too weird for me.

I should’ve said maybe the app is too hard for me to use. There’s no real “beginner help.” If I ask “How do I put my line art in a layer by itself, so I can’t paint over it, and then have a different layer where I can see the line art, so I can paint on it,” I’d expect an answer that says “Do this, and then do this.” Instead I’m sent to an article about understanding layers, but since I am a beginner, when I read it, I’m left with no clue how to do what I want to do. I don’t think it should be so hard to get a straight answer.
