Character design: Best way(s) to color my character with translucent skin?

Hello!,
I'm in the process of designing a character that is humanoid but is made out of a slimy substance that allows her to shapeshift. I was wondering if there is a good way to go about coloring these characters with CSP that would look good. I'm aiming for a translucent look for the skin(as I said in the title) Also I'm using the fill-in mono pen to color my art. I'm relatively new at digital art so im hoping to learn some better techniques to make my art look good.

Help would be appreciated!
thanks!

Since the page is in Japanese, I would like you to use the translation function of your browser to read it.
It describes what rule is based on how humans perceive "this is a translucent object."

In summary, translucent objects cast shadows similar to blurring the shadows of opaque objects.
Highlights are similar to opaque objects.
It is written that if you press these two, it will look semi-transparent.

After that, I think it would be good to search for "Subsurface Scattering" in 3DCG and find out how light behaves in translucent materials.
It is impossible to guide you to an easy-to-understand page in English, so please search for it yourself.
